The Shott Scale Up Accelerator is a twelve-month programme that develops the leadership capabilities of senior decision-makers in high-growth engineering and tech SMEs to scale their business to the next level.
The focus is on scaling up an engineering or deep tech business. Providing the individual awardee the skills, confidence and network needed to scale up their business. Participants can expect a lifetime of support through connection to an exceptional community of engineers and innovators, mentors, coaches and over 500 Enterprise Hub Members and Academy Fellows.
All support is at no cost to the awardee or their company. We do not take equity or charge fees. We are a charitable organisation and this programme helps us towards our goal to harness the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and an inclusive economy that works for everyone.
Shott Scale Up Accelerator is made possible by funding from the UK Government Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and private donor, Ian Shott CBE FREng, Academy Fellow and serial entrepreneur.

Eligibility:
The applicant:
• Only one individual from a company can apply per round of the programme.
• Both engineers and non-engineers who work at engineering and technology SMEs that are based in the UK are welcome to apply.
• Applicants of any nationality are eligible as long as you have the right to work in the UK.
• The Academy is committed to diversity and welcomes nominations and applications from women and other groups who are currently under-represented across engineering, as well as recognising the full breadth of engineering.
The company:
• Your associated company must have cumulatively raised at least £1million through either equity investment (from inception), turnover in the last financial year (excluding grants or consultancy), or a combination of both.
• We cannot accept applications from individuals in consultancies.
• Software companies must exhibit engineering as their core component and should be innovative and protectable.
• Applicants from both pre and post revenue high growth SMEs are eligible to apply.
• Applicants from companies operating in the MedTech sector will also be considered eligible if they have raised at least £1million through grant funding and equity investment since inception.
• Applicants must come from a company based in the UK and registered with Companies House. For multinational companies, the Head Office must be based in the UK.
• Only applicants from SMEs who aren't wholly or majority owned by another company are eligible (SME as per the EU definition).
