University of Leicester - Leicester Law School Legal Advice Clinic
Product Description:
The Legal Advice Clinic offers free legal advice to the general public. They welcome people from all backgrounds. The Leicester Law School students are trained to give free legal advice, closely supervised by a qualified solicitor or barrister, in legal areas that may be useful to businesses such as contract, employment law, incorporation of your business, formation of agreements, terms and conditions, policies and notices.
If they take on your case, you will then be invited to discuss your legal query in more detail. Appointments are held in person or online. It can provide an initial advice service, where clients are usually only seen once and they receive a letter of advice. They can now act for you on an ongoing basis but cannot represent a business in court nor advise on whether a business acquisition is suitable. The law students will advise on the law and how to deal with your legal issue. They can prepare draft documents for you too. Where a matter is straightforward, a meeting may not be required and the students may be able to provide a note of relevant legal advice after you complete a simple questionnaire.
