Loughborough University - Additive Manufacturing Research Group
Product Description:
The Additive Manufacturing Research Group (AMRG) also offer a bespoke contract research service to existing and emerging AM technology and materials vendors, and companies looking to apply AM within their businesses.
Typical contract research may involve the development and qualification of new materials for existing AM processes, the development of existing or new AM processes, or the validation of AM processes for specific industrial applications.
In addition to the technologies within the AMRG laboratory, the AMRG also houses an extensive testing facility.
Area of Expertise:
The AMRG group is home to a lot of different Additive Manufacturing processes – from Selective Laser Sintering to Ultrasonic Consolidation.
The machines are spaced in three labs. The newly refurbished research lab serves as the home for most of the machines, conference room and exhibitions. A second research lab is home to bigger machines and other equipment – this is where most of the “secret” research is taking place. The teaching lab has been newly refurbished with 3D printers to give the students a hands-on experience.
